The United National Movement (UNM) opposition and several other parties will hold a ‘large-rally’ in central Tbilisi on November 6, instead of initially stated November 7.
The opposition changed the date as on November 7, 2007, the UNM dispersed a large opposition rally in central Tbilisi, sparked by brutal murder of Sandro Girgvliani, the case which involves former president Mikheil Saakashvili, former Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili and other top ex-officials.
The UNM claims that the October 2 municipal elections and the run-offs on October 30 were fabricated by the ruling Georgian Dream party.
The party says they will also hold rallies in regions with the demand to annul the election results. OSCE/ODIHR and EP, however, stated that the race was well-run, competitive, but polarised.
The ruling party has won 63 of 64 mayoral consititieces in the race and received 47 percent of the vote in the proportional part of the elections.
