Opposition vows to present ‘collection of propaganda statements’ by gov’t-backed groups against Ukraine

Giga Bokeria, leader of the European Georgia opposition party, says that he will present a collection of propaganda statements by the  groups backed by the ruling Georgian Dream party  ‘which are targeted against Ukraine and aim to push forward the idea of state neutrality.’

He says that the group of people backed by the Georgian Dream authorities are actively using social media and TV channels to persuade the public of Russian President Vladimir ​​Putin’s invincibility and the need to get used to this. 

Bokeria says that the groups are also trying to assure the public that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zekensky dragged the country into the war and that political neutrality would ensure security guarantees for Georgia.

“We, European Georgia, have gathered all these statements and tomorrow we will present to the public who spoke all this, who cultivated these ideas, who propagandized Putin’s invincibility and the need to get used to it, and who are throwing stones at Zelensky and the Ukrainian people,” Bokeria said.

The ruling party MPs stated today that Georgia’s European course is irreversible.
