A court in the central Georgian city of Gori has ordered the pre-trial detention of six police officers accused of using violence against two men, Papuna Lotsulashvili and Lasha Abisonashvili.
The ruling was delivered by Judge Germane Dadeshkeliani of the Gori District Court, who also granted a prosecution request to suspend all six officers from their positions while the investigation continues.
None of the defendants attended the hearing.

The case stems from an incident in Gori's Kombinati settlement, where law enforcement officers are accused of physically assaulting two individuals.
Georgia's Prosecutor's Office subsequently arrested six officers in connection with the alleged assault. The investigation is ongoing.
