Four opposition coalitions have released a joint statement denouncing the ruling Georgian Dream party for systemic violence against peaceful demonstrators and journalists. They demand the immediate release of all detained protesters and stress the need for a unified front in their struggle to safeguard the country’s democracy.

In their statement, the opposition affirmed their commitment to supporting demonstrators through legal, informational, and medical assistance. They underscored the importance of holding new elections, which should be organized under a reformed electoral administration and with politically neutral state institutions, ensuring international oversight throughout the process.

The opposition also appealed to the international community to condemn the violence against protesters, reject the legitimacy of the last elections, and take concrete actions to support Georgia’s democratic aspirations.

“Our struggle is for the future of Georgian democracy and its European path. We will continue until we achieve victory,” the statement concluded.
