Tbilisi court sentences Paata Burchuladze and four others to seven years in prison

Tbilisi City Court has sentenced Paata Burchuladze, Irakli Nadiradze, Murtaz Zodelava, Paata Manjgaladze and Lasha Beridze to seven years’ imprisonment each.

The ruling was delivered by Judge Irakli Khuskivadze.

The court also handed prison sentences to several other defendants: Tornike Mchedlishvili received five years in prison, Guri Zhvania five years, Nika Gventsadze five years and Irakli Chkhirkia five years. Irakli Shaishmelashvili was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment.

Burchuladze, Manjgaladze, Zodelava, Nadiradze and Beridze were arrested during the night of 4 October 2025.

According to the investigation, the defendants were accused of publicly calling for the violent overthrow of the constitutional order or the government, as well as organising, leading and participating in group violence. The charges carried a maximum sentence of up to nine years in prison.
