The Parliament of Georgia on Tuesday approved amendments to the country’s Law on Combating Corruption in the third reading, with 85 votes in favour.
The bill was presented to lawmakers by Archil Gorduladze, Chair of the Legal Issues Committee.
Gorduladze said the amendments required former public officials convicted of financial or official misconduct crimes to file financial declarations for 30 years following the entry into force of their conviction.
“This is yet another example of strengthening the prevention of corruption-related offences”, he said. Gorduladze stated.
