The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, on Tuesday addressed members of the Georgian diaspora in a letter, urging them to remain steadfast in their loyalty to the homeland and to see themselves as ambassadors of the country abroad.

Marking Diaspora Day, the spiritual leader extended his blessings to Georgians living outside the country, encouraging them to maintain close ties with their roots and contribute to the nation’s development.

“You are an integral part of Georgia and ambassadors of our country abroad. Therefore, your responsibility is great,” Ilia II said in his message.

The Patriarch called on diaspora members to communicate their ideas and proposals directly to him, particularly those that could improve their circumstances and foster stronger links with Georgia.

“I have addressed you many times and now I want you to address me in writing and tell me what wishes and proposals you have that are real,” he said, expressing a desire for more active engagement from the diaspora community.

In his letter, Ilia II also conveyed spiritual blessings and well-wishes, praying for the peace and prosperity of all Georgians living abroad.

“I congratulate you and wish you strength of faith, love of neighbour, loyalty to the homeland, success in your personal life and peace and joy in the family,” he wrote.
