Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili says that the public has a ‘zero trust’ to the election polls of Edison Research and Ipsos which are commissioned by opposition-minded TV channels ahead of the October 2 municipal elections in Georgia.

He says that the polls are ‘actually conducted’ by former head of Georgia’s Central Election Commission under the United National Movement (UNM) government Levan Tarkhnishvili.

The recent polls by Edison Research and Ipsos, commissioned by Formula and Mtavari Arkhi channels, forecast second rounds in the upcoming elections, as well as a slight difference between the votes of the ruling party and the UNM opposition.

The GD claims that it will win the elections with at least 46 percent of votes, while there will be no need for second rounds in the majority of majoritarian election constituencies.
