On the night of December 10-11, six individuals were detained during a peaceful protest demonstration in Tbilisi, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

The detentions were made under administrative law, with no reports of police mobilization or the use of fireworks at the scene.

Since November 28, over 400 people have been detained during pro-European protests across Tbilisi and other cities, with more than 30 facing criminal charges that could result in several years of imprisonment. The demonstrators and their supporters are calling the detainees “political prisoners.”

Notably, no police officers were among those detained, including those accused of assaulting journalists during live broadcasts. Police forces have dispersed protests on multiple occasions, leading to continued unrest.

On December 10, the Ombudsman reported that his staff had visited 337 individuals in detention centers and clinics. Of those, 225 reported alleged ill-treatment, and 157 showed visible injuries.
