Three people have been arrested in Georgia’s eastern Kakheti region over the alleged possession of particularly large quantities of drugs, facilitating drug sales and illegally cultivating cannabis plants, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has said.
Police searched the suspects, a vehicle, a residential yard and a farm they were temporarily using, seizing particularly large quantities of narcotic substances, including marijuana and cannabis plants, the ministry said.
Officers also seized materials allegedly intended for packaging drugs for distribution.
The offences carry penalties of up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
