Foreign citizen arrested in Tbilisi over methadone trafficking

A foreign national has been arrested in Tbilisi on suspicion of illegally possessing a particularly large quantity of methadone and facilitating its sale, Georgia's Interior Ministry said on Thursday.
Officers from the Vake-Saburtalo division of the Tbilisi Police Department arrested the suspect following investigative measures, including a personal search.
Police seized a particularly large quantity of methadone allegedly prepared for sale, the ministry said.
The charges carry a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
