Two people have been arrested in Tbilisi on suspicion of illegally acquiring and possessing particularly large quantities of drugs and facilitating their sale as part of a pre-agreed group, Georgia’s Interior Ministry said on Friday.
Officers from the Vake-Saburtalo Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department seized particularly large quantities of narcotics prepared for distribution during searches of the suspects and their temporary residence, as well as at various locations.
The seized substances included cocaine, clephedrone and MDMA.
Investigators also recovered materials used to package drugs for distribution, the ministry said.
If convicted, the suspects face up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
