Two foreign nationals have been arrested in Tbilisi on suspicion of acquiring and possessing particularly large quantities of drugs and facilitating their sale as part of a pre-arranged group, Georgia’s Interior Ministry said.
Police seized 12 packages of methadone allegedly prepared for distribution during a personal search of one suspect and at locations identified by the second detainee.
The offences carry a prison sentence of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
