Luka Ekhvaia has been appointed head of the Administration of the President of Georgia, the presidential press service said.

Ekhvaia has previously served as an adviser and assistant to the president on foreign affairs.

He is a researcher and specialist in international relations. Ekhvaia holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the Caucasus University School of Government and a master’s degree in political science from the University of Bologna.

He was also a doctoral student in Global and Regional Studies at the University of Leipzig’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and later pursued a PhD in political science at the Caucasus International University.

Ekhvaia was appointed by President Mikheil Kavelashvili as an adviser on international relations in March 2025. At the time, he was described as a political commentator and researcher specialising in international affairs.
