Minor charged with aggravated murder of another minor in Tbilisi

Georgia’s Prosecutor’s Office has charged a minor with the aggravated intentional murder of another minor in Tbilisi, following a fatal stabbing at a restaurant on Khudadov Street.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the incident took place on September 10 at a restaurant on N. Khudadov Street, where the suspect became involved in an argument with a minor who was dining with friends.

The suspect allegedly took the victim away from the gathering and, during the ensuing confrontation, stabbed him several times. The victim died at the scene from his injuries, the Prosecutor’s Office said.

The suspect was arrested by law enforcement officers on the same day.

The charge covers intentional murder committed with hooligan motives and carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.

The prosecution said it will apply to the court within the legally prescribed timeframe to seek pre-trial detention for the accused.
