The Resistance Platform, initiated by ex-President Salome Zourabichvili, held a virtual meeting with the international Friends of Georgia group, including Members of the European Parliament, representatives of national parliaments from European countries, a US Congress member, and a representative of an international organization. The information was shared by Zourabichvili’s press office.

During the meeting, Zourabichvili introduced the platform’s participants, outlined its goals, and explained its operating structure. The session was attended by members of the European Parliament, national parliaments of various European countries, US Congress representatives, and officials from international organizations.

“We presented the new initiative, the Resistance Platform, its mission, operating principles, and its core foundation—the Georgian Charter. Our shared and immediate goals are the release of political prisoners and the announcement of new elections,” said Zourabichvili.

She noted that the platform is already working in coordination with protest participants, NGOs, and cultural institutions to plan events for May 26, Georgia’s Independence Day. The group has invited international allies to join in Tbilisi to express solidarity with the Georgian people.

Zourabichvili also criticized recent legislative developments by the ruling Georgian Dream party, particularly the "repressive media laws."

“These are the usual tactics—presenting Russian-style laws under a Western guise, sometimes British, sometimes American. But it is clear to all that this is a continuation of repression, and it demands a stronger response from our European partners,” she concluded.
