Pope Leo XIV has congratulated Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and the Georgian people on the occasion of Georgia’s Independence Day.
Pope Leo XIV expressed wishes for the country’s prosperity and unity, and said he prayed that Georgian citizens would continue to find inspiration in serving the common good of the nation.
The Pope called on people to remain committed to peace, compassion towards the poor and charitable support for those suffering.
Referring to Saint Nino, Pope Leo XIV prayed that Georgians would be granted the ability to live in peace and security.
