The ruling Georgian Dream party says that a member of precinct election commission in Kutaisi No. 90, Iza Chirgadze, lied when she said last week that the ruling Georgian Dream *GD) party exercised pressure on her to allow voting of unregistered voters on the election day on October 30.

GD MP Mamuka Mdinaradze says that the accusations are groundless and that about 10 members of the ruling party were either threatened or offered money to spread such fake information.

“The GD members have refused to act in this way. I do not know what pushed the woman to spread the fake information,” Mdinaradze said. The International Society For Fair Elections and Democracy stated earlier today that Chirgadze had her phone switched off.

The organisation expressed a suspicion that pressure was still exercised on her.

Later today, the opposition-minded Formula TV said that Chirgadze was safe.
