Ruling party presents candidates for April midterm elections

The ruling Georgian Dream party on Wednesday presented candidates for April 29 midterm elections for the MP of the country’s western Poti, Senaki and Khobi constituencies and mayors in Tsageri and Terjola municipalities. 

 

Giorgi Khakhubia, the son of deceased MP Irakli Khakhubia, will run for Poti, Senaki and Khobi MP, while lawyer Levan Zalkaliani, a former deputy government representative for Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region for Tsageri mayor and Manuchar Robakidze, an acting mayor in Terjola, for the mayoral post in the municipality. 

 

Lasha Gogiashvili, who served as Terjola mayor, died last year following a road accident, while Giorgi Nemsadze, a former Tsageri mayor, resigned.
