Russian military losses exceed 1.23 million, Kyiv

Ukraine’s armed forces have released updated figures on Russia’s military losses since the start of the full-scale invasion.
Ukraine’s General Staff on Tuesday said Russia had lost about 1,235,880 troops killed or wounded since February 2022, including 820 casualties reported in the past day.
The Ukrainian military estimated that, between 25 February 2022 and 27 January 2026, Russian losses also included 11,609 tanks, 23,954 armoured vehicles and 36,691 artillery systems. It says 1,628 multiple-launch rocket systems have been destroyed.
The figures also listed 1,286 air defence systems, 434 aircraft and 347 helicopters lost, with no new losses reported in those categories. Ukraine claimed Russia had lost 116,712 operational and tactical drones, including 899 in the past day, as well as 4,205 cruise missiles.
Naval losses were put at 28 small ships and two submarines. The General Staff also reported the destruction of 76,025 vehicles and fuel tanks and 4,051 units of specialised equipment.
