Russian forces launched drone attacks on Kyiv during the night of April 12, sparking multiple fires and injuring at least two people, according to the city’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko.

Air defense systems were active throughout the night, Klitschko said, urging residents to remain in shelters. “Air defense is operating in the capital. Stay in shelters!” he wrote on Telegram.

In the Darnytskyi district, a private home caught fire after drone debris fell on the property. Meanwhile, in the Svyatoshyn district, non-residential buildings were set ablaze, and two people were injured.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported that three separate warehouses across Kyiv caught fire as a result of the drone attacks. Emergency crews have been deployed to the affected areas.

No further details have been provided about the condition of the injured.

Russia has continued to target civilian infrastructure across Ukraine since launching its full-scale invasion in February 2022, with Kyiv frequently being one of the primary targets.
