NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte visited the Ukrainian city of Odesa today, where he met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and expressed steadfast support for Ukraine amid ongoing Russian aggression. The visit comes just days after a deadly missile attack on Sumy, which killed over 30 people and left dozens injured.

Rutte took to the social media platform X to reaffirm NATO’s commitment, stating, “Ukraine’s people have endured so much, not least Russia’s Palm Sunday attack on Sumy. NATO support is unwavering. We will continue to help Ukraine so it can defend today and deter future aggression, ensuring a just and lasting peace.”

The Secretary General’s visit highlights the alliance’s ongoing military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, as well as its strategic commitment to support the country’s sovereignty and security in the face of Russia’s war.
