Imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili says that a ‘serious provocation’ is being planned against Georgia at the occupation line after which Russia would demand Georgia to declare neutrality.

Attending a trial hearing in one of his cases in Tbilisi City Court today, Saakashvili claimed that the opposition would be blamed for the provocation and called on politicians to ‘speak and act very cautiously.’

He stated that he had received the information from diplomats of different foreign countries, as well as from an intelligence service ‘of a very serious country.’

Moscow says that one of its demands towards Ukraine is declaring neutrality which means that the country will not aspire for NATO.

Talks between Russia and Ukraine are still in progress amid hostilities in the latter after Russian troops invaded the country on February 24.
