Investigation launched into residential building collapse in Tbilisi

Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation under Article 240 of the Criminal Code following the partial collapse of a residential building near Station Square in Tbilisi.

According to the ministry’s official statement, two people have been confirmed dead and one person has been injured. The injured individual has been hospitalized and is receiving medical care.

Emergency response crews, including firefighters and rescue personnel from the Emergency Management Service, continue search-and-rescue operations around the clock in coordination with other ministry units.

For safety reasons, the surrounding area has been cordoned off.
