Five dead, 38 injured in Georgia-Moscow bus crash

Five people died and 38 others were injured after a passenger bus travelling from Georgia to Moscow collided with a lorry.

Children are among those injured.

The crash happened overnight on 30 August, on the third kilometre of the Kavkaz federal highway.

According to preliminary information from Russia’s traffic police, the driver of the Setra bus failed to maintain a safe distance from a Kamaz lorry travelling ahead and collided with it.

The bus then left the road and ended up in a ditch.
