Officers from the Border Management and Coordination Main Division of Georgia’s Patrol Police Department have detained a foreign national, born in 1983, on charges of attempting to illegally cross Georgia’s state border using forged documents.

The individual, identified by the initials D.R., was arrested at Tbilisi International Airport while allegedly attempting to cross the state border with falsified documentation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia said on Thursday. 

The crime carries a penalty of up to five years’ imprisonment.
