Georgia, Turkmenistan sign healthcare cooperation memorandum

Georgia and Turkmenistan have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the healthcare sector, aimed at expanding collaboration through the exchange of knowledge and expertise and the development of joint projects.

The agreement, signed between the two countries' relevant ministries, also provides for cooperation in medical education and medical tourism.

Georgian Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze said the memorandum marked a new stage in bilateral cooperation and would create important opportunities for both countries.

Ahead of the signing ceremony, Sarjveladze met Turkmenistan's Minister of Health and Medical Industry to discuss prospects for closer cooperation and future joint initiatives.

The agreement was signed during the state visit to Georgia by a Turkmen delegation led by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who held a series of high-level meetings with members of the Georgian government.
