European University has hosted Georgia's first simulation competition for medical students, offering participants the opportunity to apply clinical knowledge in realistic emergency scenarios.
The competition concluded on June 27 with a final stage conducted in a field environment designed to replicate real-life emergency conditions. Students assumed the role of emergency physicians responding to a simulated road traffic accident.
Participants were required to assess the patient's condition, provide emergency medical care, prepare the patient for transportation to hospital, and establish an initial diagnosis under time pressure.
All teams were evaluated according to a detailed scoring system by a jury comprising Ana Inauri and Nino Tabidze, both invited lecturers at the university.
The winning teams were:
First place
Abdimalik Hassan Nuh Adan
Rama Khaled Abed Albarghouthi
Kritika Gupta
Second place
Mariam Ichkitidze
Tamar Giorgadze
Vasil Goginashvili
Third place
Abhiram Chaliyath Rajeesh
Shiza Sardar Mahmood
Yaman Adli Qasem Al Khaldi
The pilot project was successfully completed and demonstrated the value of simulation-based training, allowing students to practice decision-making, teamwork and clinical procedures in conditions closely resembling real emergencies, the University said.
Following each exercise, participating teams received detailed feedback from the judges to support their professional development.
The finalists will receive prizes and certificates recognizing their performance in the competition.
