Foreign citizen arrested at Tbilisi airport for attempting to cross border using forged document

A foreign national has been arrested at Tbilisi International Airport on suspicion of attempting to illegally cross Georgia’s state border using a forged document, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Monday.

Officers from the Patrol Police Department’s Main Division for Border Management and Coordination detained the foreign national at the airport while the person was allegedly attempting to cross the state border using a forged document.

The offence carries a sentence of up to five years in prison.
