Georgian police seize large quantity of narcotics at Sarpi border crossing

The crime carries a sentence of up to 20 years or life imprisonment

Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of Georgia have prevented the illegal import of a particularly large quantity of narcotics into the country.
The law enforcement officers detained a 1987-born individual, identified as R.A., at the Sarpi Border Crossing on drug-related charges.
During a personal search, police seized tablets containing the narcotic substance buprenorphine as evidence, the MIA press office said.
The crime carries a sentence of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
