Police in Georgia have arrested a man on suspicion of robbery after an incident at a Bank of Georgia branch in the western municipality of Abasha, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has said.
The suspect entered the bank branch on 3 July and fired a single shot from a hunting shotgun, the Ministry said on Friday.
Police officers from the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department detained the suspect at the scene following operative measures and investigative actions carried out immediately after the incident, the ministry said.
No one was injured in the shooting.
Investigators seized the shotgun allegedly used in the incident as evidence.
