Two men arrested in Samegrelo–Zemo Svaneti for illegal possession of firearms, ammunition

The offences carry a sentence of up to seven years in prison

Police officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Regional Department have arrested two individuals - T.S., born in 1972, and V.S., born in 1985 - on charges of the illegal acquisition, possession and carrying of firearms and ammunition.
According to the Ministry, the offences carry a sentence of up to seven years in prison.
During searches of the suspects’ persons, homes, and auxiliary premises, law enforcement officers seized various types of firearms and ammunition, including:
2 automatic firearms,
a pistol,
a small-caliber rifle,
an RPG launcher,
a hand grenade,
and 777 rounds of ammunition of different calibers.
Investigators also confiscated marijuana found during the search operations.
