Georgian Police Arrest Azerbaijani National Wanted by Interpol in Adjara

Georgia’s Patrol Police have arrested an Azerbaijani national wanted under an Interpol Red Notice in the country’s Adjara region, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

According to the ministry, the suspect was wanted at the request of Azerbaijani law enforcement authorities on charges of hooliganism and intentional damage to another person’s property.

Following investigative measures, Georgian law enforcement officers detained the wanted individual at the Sarpi border checkpoint.

Extradition proceedings against the suspect are currently underway in accordance with Georgian law.
