Interpol-wanted Turkish citizen arrested by patrol police in Georgia’s Adjara region

Officers of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the Adjara Investigation Service of the Department’s Main Investigation Division, have arrested a Turkish citizen wanted by Interpol in the Adjara region.

The Interior Ministry said the detainee, identified as S.K. and born in 1986, was wanted by Turkey on charges related to sexual exploitation and prostitution.

Law enforcement officers apprehended the suspect as a result of investigative measures carried out in Adjara. Extradition procedures envisaged by law are currently under way.
