One arrested in Tbilisi over particularly large quantity of methadone

Georgia’s Interior Ministry said on Thursday police in Tbilisi have arrested one person on charges of illegally acquiring and possessing a particularly large quantity of narcotics and facilitating their sale.

Officers from the Tbilisi Main Division of the Patrol Police Department seized a particularly large quantity of methadone prepared for sale during a personal search of the suspect and investigative operations carried out at several locations in the capital.

The offences carry a sentence of up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
