France, alongside 37 other member states of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), has activated the Vienna Mechanism, according to a statement released by the French Embassy in Georgia.

The Vienna Mechanism, a diplomatic tool designed to address serious concerns related to fundamental freedoms and human rights, has been invoked to address the current situation in Georgia.

“We urge Georgia to engage in constructive dialogue to preserve fundamental freedoms of assembly and expression,” the statement reads.

This activation reflects growing international concerns over recent developments in Georgia and underscores the call for a commitment to democratic principles and human rights.
