Salome Shapakidze, Georgia’s Ambassador to Lithuania, has announced her resignation. In a statement shared on social media, Shapakidze expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve her country for over a decade, emphasizing her dedication to advancing Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and its integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures.

“It was an honor and privilege to serve my country’s national interests for more than a decade and humbly contribute to its sovereignty and territorial integrity that go hand in hand with its European and Euro-Atlantic quest,” she wrote, concluding with the declaration: “Georgia is Europe!”

Shapakidze is the third ambassador to resign after the Georgian Dream Government announced the suspension of the EU accession negotiations.
