Germany’s newly formed coalition government, comprising the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the Christian Social Union (CSU), and the Social Democratic Party (SPD), has outlined its position on Georgia’s European Union (EU) accession process.

The coalition agreement emphasized that progress in Georgia’s EU bid was contingent upon the country’s adherence to democratic principles.

“The continuation of Georgia’s accession process can only be discussed when there are no more doubts about the protection of democratic processes. We support pro-European forces”, said the agreement shared by the German Embassy to Georgia on Thursday.
