The visit began with a tour of the Joint Maritime Operations Centre

A delegation comprising members of the NATO Core Team and experts from the Maritime Security Initiative under the NATO-Georgia Substantial Package (SNGP) has visited Georgia's Coast Guard Department and the Joint Maritime Operations Centre (JMOC).

The visit began with a tour of the Joint Maritime Operations Centre. Badri Shengelia, Head of the Organisational and Technical Support Division of the centre, briefed the delegation on its operations and activities.

During the visit, meetings were held with representatives of the Border Police Administration, the International Relations Division and the Coast Guard. Delegates received detailed information about the Coast Guard's mission, objectives and operational activities.

The Head of the Coast Guard Department, Iura Pirtskhalashvili, also presented the engineering and maintenance infrastructure at the Poti naval base, Coast Guard vessels and the equipment used by the Border Police Coast Guard's boarding teams.
