Papuashvili, Luxembourg parliament speaker discuss Georgia-EU ties, bilateral cooperation

Georgia’s Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili met Claude Wiseler, President of the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg, during his official visit to the Grand Duchy.

Papuashvili thanked his Luxembourg counterpart for his country’s support for Georgia’s territorial integrity, the Georgian Parliament’s press office said on Thursday.

The two speakers noted that parliamentary cooperation between Georgia and Luxembourg has been developing dynamically. They also recalled their meeting in Istanbul in April 2026, held on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly, and highlighted the importance of Papuashvili’s current bilateral visit.

The officials discussed areas of bilateral cooperation, including strengthening business ties and tourism cooperation.

Georgia-EU relations were also on the agenda. The sides noted Georgia’s implementation of commitments under the EU-Georgia Association Agreement and stressed the importance of restoring dialogue between Georgia and the European Union.

The meeting also covered the war in Ukraine and prospects for peace and development in the Caucasus region.
