Georgian parliament speaker heads to Tanzania for IPU assembly

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has travelled to Tanzania with a parliamentary delegation to attend the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Arusha.
Papuashvili is scheduled to address the general debate and take part in the election of the IPU president, the Georgian parliament's press office said.
He is also expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings during the visit.
The delegation is led by Papuashvili and includes Nikoloz Samkharadze, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, and Mariam Lashkhi, chairwoman of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee.
