Irakli Beraia appointed Head of Georgia's Revenue Service

Irakli Beraia has been appointed as the new Head of the Revenue Service of Georgia, according to the Ministry of Finance. Prior to this role, Beraia served as the Head of the Ministry's Investigative Service.
The appointment was made based on Article 6, Paragraph 1 of the Law of Georgia "On the Revenue Service."
Born on July 23, 1976, Beraia graduated with honors from the Faculty of Economics at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in 1998. From 2016 to 2025, he served as a member of the 9th, 10th, and 11th convocations of the Parliament of Georgia and previously held the position of Deputy Minister of Justice.
Beraia replaces Levan Kakava, who stepped down from the role on June 16. Kakava had led the Revenue Service since 2019.
