Police in Georgia's Shida Kartli region have arrested a foreign national on charges of purchasing and possessing an especially large quantity of narcotics and facilitating drug trafficking, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Friday.
The body added officers from the Shida Kartli Police Department searched the suspect's temporary residence and seized nearly six kilograms of dried marijuana packaged in 14 separate bundles and allegedly prepared for distribution.
Investigators also confiscated materials used for packaging narcotics, as well as cash believed to have been obtained through drug sales.
The crime is punishable by up to 20 years' imprisonment or life imprisonment, the Ministry said.
