Roland Meskhi has been appointed as the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, serving under Interior Minister and Vice Prime Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri. The appointment was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Thursday.

Meskhi has held various positions within the ministry over the years and most recently served as Deputy Director of the Tbilisi Police Department since July 2021. He brings two decades of experience in law enforcement to his new role.

A graduate of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Meskhi holds a degree in law and the rank of Police Colonel. According to the ministry, his career reflects a long-standing commitment to police service and public safety in Georgia.
