Georgia’s Interior Ministry has again warned organisers and participants of a United National Movement rally not to violate assembly laws and to comply with police instructions, as the party plans to gather near Rike Park in central Tbilisi.

The ministry said organisers had been informed in advance that preparations for the Tbilisoba 2026 celebrations were underway around Europe Square and Rike Park, including dismantling works in the Rike Park Music Theatre and Exhibition Hall.

The Ministry said the area where dismantling works are being carried out poses heightened safety risks, and citizens should not enter or move through the site.

The Interior Ministry urged the rally organisers and participants to take the situation on the ground into account, follow safety rules, avoid obstructing the preparations for Tbilisoba and comply with lawful police instructions.

“Police will ensure public order and the safety of citizens at the site and will take appropriate measures within the powers granted by law,” the ministry said.

The UNM has announced a rally at 5 p.m. on October 1 to mark five years since the arrest of former President Mikheil Saakashvili. Party representatives have said they intend to hold the gathering near Rike Docks despite the authorities’ warnings.
