State flags have been lowered at the administrative buildings of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs to honor those who lost their lives during the August 2008 Russia–Georgia war.
Eighteen years ago, during the August 2008 conflict, 19 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were killed in the line of duty.
The tribute forms part of nationwide commemorations marking the anniversary of the war and honoring the memory of those who died during the conflict.
