About 390 employees of the Social Service Agency of Georgia will go on strike across the country starting January 17, as they have been demanding a 100% increase in their salaries and worthy working conditions.

Their lawyer says that the people have had 200 GEL salary for 12 years plus bonuses, ‘an income which is sometimes little than the monthly state support for the socially vulnerable people.’

The lawyer says that negotiations have been taking place with the country’s health ministry for several months on.

However, after the resignation of Ekaterine Tikaradze from the ministerial post, the process has been stalled.

He says that the strike will continue until the demands are fulfilled.
