Georgia's Interior Minister Sulkhan Tamazashvili has appointed Police Colonel Giorgi Bakhuashvili as a deputy interior minister.

Bakhuashvili most recently served as director of the Interior Ministry's General Inspection Department, a position he held before his promotion.

According to the ministry, Bakhuashvili has many years of experience within the Interior Ministry and has held a number of positions during his law enforcement career.
