Georgia’s Security Service: citizen detained near Zadiaantkari released

The State Security Service of Georgia says a Georgian citizen who was illegally detained near the village of Zadiaantkari in Kaspi Municipality on December 23, 2025, has been released and is now in territory controlled by the central government.

According to the agency, all relevant mechanisms available to the central authorities were actively used in the process of securing the individual’s release. The issue was also discussed within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM).

The Security Service noted that the central government continues active efforts to secure the release of all Georgian citizens illegally detained in the occupied territories.
