Georgia’s First Lady, Tamar Bagrationi, has travelled to Washington at the invitation of the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump.

Bagrationi will take part in a global summit initiated by Trump, titled Together for a Better Future. The event aims to promote the safe and innovative use of advanced technologies to support children’s education, development and wellbeing, the president’s press office said on Monday.

Trump is expected to host a roundtable at the White House for the spouses of world leaders. Discussions will focus on assessing their role in supporting child welfare in the digital age, as well as exploring shared commitments in this area.

Ahead of the roundtable, a working session will be held at the United States Department of State. Participants will discuss practical approaches and innovative tools designed to help children make the most of opportunities and overcome challenges in an increasingly digital environment.

Events under the Together for a Better Future summit are scheduled to take place on 24 and 25 March.

Bagrationi will be joined by Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Baia Kvitsiani, and the Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Youth Affairs, Mariam Lashkhi.
